Welcome to the forums! Here's a copy of our announcment:
Introducing the Combat Simulation Project (CSP) for OFP2
CSP is a realism overhual and expansion to OFP2, aimed at the "hardcore" element of the OFP fanbase. Catering to realism and accuracy, CSP aims to provide a very deep and authentic simulation of company level combat in both conventional and unconventional warfare. OFP2's EGO engine combined with LUA scripting provides a solid foundation and huge potential for this kind of modification.
The Combat Simulation Project is being developed around a series of "phases", providing tangible release landmarks and a series of realistic goals, currently Phase 1 aims at:
- Realism and accuracy modifications to the games existing forces where necessary (PLA, USMC, and any Russian forces ) and the addition of new weapons and vehicles to those forces.
- The integration of the US Army, USAF, and our OPFOR pack (containing insurgents/militia).
- Exploration into adding civilians
- Realism overhaul of the game mechanics and features, along with the addition of some of our more advanced features (radio systems for example, call in CAS with a proper 9-line).
CSP Standardization and Partner Programs
We are currently looking at helping create a set of modding standards for armor, ammo, and other elements to help mods interact as they were meant to be played.
For modders interested in integrating CSP features into their mods, we also have the CSP partner program.
Modders can contact me via PM on our forums.
The First CSP media update!
In our first media release we have 2 renders, the RKG-3 anti-tank grenade (made by Znake) for use by the OPFOR pack and the M224 60mm mortar (made by Ryujin). Mortars will be player/AI usable and cut back on "magic artillery", while also allowing mortars to be used in a more direct role.
All work does not represent the finished quality and expect more updates in the near future!
