Hey guys and gals,
I have to make a choice for my new videocard. I have a GTX260 in my rigg, but it's crashing constantly. I'll try to get it fixed, but in the meanwhile I want to upgrade my videocard.
I've had bad experience with radeon cards, but that was 4 years ago. Since then always had GeForce cards.
Do you guys know what's todays best choice for gaming and especially 3ds max viewport rendering?? For my work I sometimes have architectural scenes with millions of polygons and my pc doesn't like that.
I am looking at the GeForce GTX285, GTX295, Radeon 5850 and 5870.

does anybody know which card works best with 3ds max? It doesn't seem like anyone does and google was inconclusive. It seemed like good openGL support was mentioned, might be an nvida thing? I think you'll just have to research it.

hmm yeah, i guess it's gonna be a GTX295. I've done research but came up with no good information on that particular question. There are lots of reviews and versus-tests for FirePro and Quadro FX but that's far above budget (for now).
