Yee it sure looks awesome, but for some reason I actually get the feeling they put some more effort in making this expansion than the ArmA 2 itself?

ArmA 2 was a hundred time better than ArmA. As long as you're playing with the right people, there is no better military sim on the market than ArmA 2.

Yeah isn't VBS2 like $2,000.00 to 3,000.00? ARMA 2 is way cheaper. I was playing ARMA 2 SP but got stuck and have to download a patch but what I played was fun. One thing I didn't like was you have to unlock stuff, like you can't just go jump into a MV-22 and fly it.

Well, you can go jump in an MV-22 and fly it. In the campaign it was probably locked and the only other reason it would be locked is if it was a user made mission like Evolution with a special script (personally I hate it, especially the unlock script).
Nothing is locked by default.

Yeah, just got into the mission editor and you can throw down any vehicle or aircraft in the game and try it out. If something is locked or unusable, its because whoever made the mission made it that way.
